Stockton Mine

Stockton Mine is Solid Energy’s most valuable operational coal mining property.  Directly employing approximately 600 people through the Stockton Alliance, Stockton has sufficient economically recoverable resources to continue producing high-quality steel-making coal for up to another 20 years.  Resources within the neighbouring Upper Waimangaroa Mining Permit, which is valid until 2038, have the potential to add further life to Stockton’s operations beyond this 20-year time frame.  The Cypress pit at Stockton will be the first development within the Mining Permit.
